Power flushing
What is power flushing
- When upgrading a traditional floor standing boiler to a new high efficiency unit it is imperative that a
full power flush be carried out on the central heating system. ‘Power
flushing’ is
carried out by attaching a specially designed pumping system to
the boiler and radiator pipe work and forcing cleansing chemicals
around the radiators, pipework and boiler
- This
practice can be done as part of an upgrade, or can be carried out
as a separate job on a existing system to improve the overall efficiency
of an older system
Why power flushing is important

When installing a new gas boiler to an older existing central heating system, there is a risk that dirt which accumulated in the radiators over time, will damage the newly installed boiler.
Many boiler manufacturers may not honour their guarantee, if dirty water is found to be present in the heating system.
Therefore when investing in the installlation of a new boiler, it is imperative to cary out power flushing.
